Accountants & Bankers Industry Chapter Reception 2009
ORT America's Accountants & Bankers Industry Chapter Celebrates Leonard Greer (IDB Bank) and the 130th Anniversary of ORT.
ORT America's Accountants & Bankers Industry Chapter opened the philanthropic season with its premiere event as a capacity crowd paid tribute to one of the industry's most beloved and respected figures, Israel Discount Bank's Leonard "Lenny" Greer. The Annual Reception, held at New York's stunning Bryant Park Grill, honored Mr. Greer with the ORT Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his extraordinary leadership and long-time service to the Chapter and the students of ORT.
Marking the 130th Anniversary of ORT with an eye toward social consciousness while responding to the challenging economic times, the event presented a fresh and exciting face. The new venue was bright, casual and condusive to networking opportunities. In an effort to be responsibly "green" the Chapter also introduced a virtual journal, posted on this website.
Abby E. Parsonnet and Jay D. Silver, Chapter Co-Chairs, have led this group admirably for the past three years. Dedicated Chapter Executive Committee members Lissa Baum served as Event Chair, as she did last year, and Howard Weinberg, a past honoree, was Journal Chair. Both did a great job generating response and participation from colleagues and supporters.
