ORT NY Autumn Cocktail Party
ORT NEW YORK BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS
SUPPORT PROGRAMS WITH CAPACITY CROWD AT AUTUMN RECEPTION
The ORT America New York Metro Chapter held its second, highly successful event, the Autumn Garden Café Networking Reception for Business Professionals on Tuesday, November 17. This was the place to be seen as the overflow crowd, representing numerous industries and backgrounds, gathered at the beautifully restored, historic townhouse adjoining the Kitano Hotel to show their support for ORT's global network of life-saving education and technology programs, while making new connections, or simply relaxing with friends and colleagues.
Host Committee member, Deborah Menikoff addressed the guests. "ORT has hundreds of programs running at any given time -- each is a vital piece of the network. No program is going to be short-changed on behalf of another." She spoke of her visit with students, faculty and Jewish leadership at the ORT Renzo Levi School in Rome. "Renzo Levi remains central to my relationship with ORT. There will always be times when ORT's official priority will be mine like the current funding crisis in the former Soviet Union or the emergency building campaign after missiles strike classrooms in Israel. I will always step up and support these efforts . . . I think that's a great return on investment."
Committee Member David Leffler of Leffler Marcus & McCaffrey, LLC, conducted the raffle drawing. The winner, Diana Lipsig, Esq. of Gallery Real Estate Group, LLC, received a copy of "The History of ORT: A Jewish Movement for Social Change," by Leon Shapiro. Also helping to create buzz throughout the evening were Host Committee Members Andrew Bart, Esq.; Wendy Brown, Merrill Lynch; and Rochelle Crespi, Senior Vice President, GuardHill Financial Corp.
