CONVENTION 2010 - Luncheon & Opening Session Highlights
ORT America held its Triennial National Convention in Chicago, IL, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, bringing together supporters from across the nation to commemorate ORT's 130 years of providing education.
The Opening Legislative Session kicked off the day's deliberations with an installation of the 32-member National Board of Directors for 2010-2013, including Shelley B. Fagel (Naperville, IL) as ORT America's National President.
In addition, participants enjoyed a festive Sunday Reception/Luncheon, featuring acceptance remarks by newly-installed National President Shelley B. Fagel; a keynote address by speaker Roger Cossack, legal analyst for the leading entertainment and sports programming network ESPN; and a special tribute to the late, Joe Cohen, longtime ORT leader, Immediate Past President of American ORT and a member of the National Board of Directors. Guests were treated to a performance by vocalist Sol Abramzon, an ORT alumni and teacher at ORT Argentina.
